WOMBLES “GOLDEN” ALBUM OUT SOON ON CD!

Hey there, playmates! Just to say that after playing it cool and putting GOLDEN (the Wombles’ “in-the-order-of-original-release” singles album)out as vinyl-only, we’ve reacted to popular demand and it will be released on CD on November 8th, just in time for Christmas stockings! If you are reading this AFTER November 8th, read that as ‘was” released rather than “will be released. Obviously. We didn’t put any bonus tracks on it because (a) that’s the sort of people we are and (b) we wanted it to be exactly the same as the vinyl one! Please feel free to buy as many as you like! It will be the first time “Wombling USA” will have been released on pure digital (CD). Its first release went almost unnoticed as the B side of the cassette version of Wombles/Roy Wood mashup “I Wish It Could Be A Wombling Merry Christmas Every Day” in the 90s, and more recently it was on vinyl, so obviously not immune to surface noise and scratchy clicks!

IN OTHER WOMBLE NEWS ORINOCO is joining FEARGAL SHARKEY and thousand of others for the March for Clean Water in London on Sunday 3rd November this year (2024). Elisabeth Beresford always stipulated that Wombles could not be involved in Smoking, Sex (?) or Politics, but frankly, we think joining an environmentally, undeniably important march transcends politics and indeed ORINOCO, representing all the Wombles, has a duty, not just a right to be there.
